In general we ask for a reservation, but if there is availability we can accommodate same-day visits too. Weekends and long holidays get busy, so we recommend booking early.

Yes. Depending on that day’s bookings it may not be possible, so if you would like to change, please contact us in advance.
The day before the shoot, 50% of the plan fee; on the day, 100%. The same applies to date changes, so please contact us as early as possible.
No problem at all. Our staff are not fully fluent in English, but we communicate using translation apps and gestures, so guests from overseas can enjoy the experience with ease. Please don’t hesitate to visit even if you don’t speak Japanese.
Yes. However, as the wait for shooting can get long, we may split you into several groups.
For safety reasons, we generally do not recommend it. If you still wish to take part, please contact us directly.
Of course. We communicate by writing and gestures, and our staff take sign-language lessons and more, striving to talk with you as smoothly as possible.
Yes. We offer the men-only Sharaku plan, and a couple plan to shoot together with a female guest. The couple plan covers men’s dressing only (kimono, or haori-hakama), but men can also take part on their own. We also sometimes run limited-time men’s transformation plans — please feel free to ask us.
Our women’s services are operated on the premise of women-only changing and preparation areas. Given our current facilities and operations, we therefore welcome guests whose physical characteristics are female.

A juban (under-kimono), tabi socks, makeup remover and basic skincare, towels and a hair dryer are all provided. Please bring only the makeup you’ll use on your way home.
Your everyday clothes and makeup are perfectly fine. For dressing reasons, however, please avoid wearing a bra-top.
For plans with no stated limit, you may bring up to three items in total. If you’d like to bring items, please let us know in advance.

We don’t have our own parking. We’re sorry for the inconvenience — please use a nearby coin parking.
Yes, you can keep contact lenses in. We don’t provide colored contacts, so please bring your own if you’d like them.
Generally no problem. However, for a Japanese-hair style the extensions may show, so if you’re concerned, removing them beforehand is the safest option.
No problem. We apply the false eyelashes without touching the roots of your lashes.
We take care with hygiene so you can receive makeup with peace of mind. Staff sanitize their hands before service, and foundation sponges are new for each guest. Puffs and brushes are washed and used per guest.
Liquid foundation, lipstick and the like are portioned onto a spatula before application. Mascara uses a disposable screw brush, and false eyelashes are new and discarded after use.
If hygiene is a particular concern, or you’d like to use your own makeup, you’re welcome to bring your usual products. Please feel free to consult our staff about the day’s makeup.
We don’t provide them. If you’d like them, please apply them yourself before you arrive.
A Japanese-hair style is arranged using your own hair, so it can be difficult if your hair is too short. If it reaches about shoulder length, it’s possible.
Almost all our costumes are ready-made free sizes (M–L). Since the oiran is dressed in a deliberately loose style, guests with a fuller figure can take part too. If a size doesn’t fit, you can shoot in your own costume, so please consult us in advance.
Guests in the same booth take a two-cut commemorative photo together after each person’s individual shoot. A full group shoot is available as a paid option.
We ask you to refrain from using cameras inside the shooting studio. Snapshots in the free-photo space are fine.
They’re provided in the studio and free to use during your shoot. You may also bring your own props — please let us know when you book.
Depending on the booth, a small number of people may watch.
After retouching, usually within one month.

Photo data is generally kept for two months, so additional orders are possible within that period.
