Reservations & Cancellations

Do I need a reservation?

In general we ask for a reservation, but if there is availability we can accommodate same-day visits too. Weekends and long holidays get busy, so we recommend booking early.

How far in advance can I book?

We accept reservations up to about three months ahead.

Can I change my plan on the day?

Yes. Depending on that day’s bookings it may not be possible, so if you would like to change, please contact us in advance.

Is there a cancellation fee?

The day before the shoot, 50% of the plan fee; on the day, 100%. The same applies to date changes, so please contact us as early as possible.

About Your Visit

About Your Visit

I don’t speak Japanese — is that okay?

No problem at all. Our staff are not fully fluent in English, but we communicate using translation apps and gestures, so guests from overseas can enjoy the experience with ease. Please don’t hesitate to visit even if you don’t speak Japanese.

Can large groups come?

Yes. However, as the wait for shooting can get long, we may split you into several groups.

I’m pregnant — is it possible?

For safety reasons, we generally do not recommend it. If you still wish to take part, please contact us directly.

I’m hard of hearing or speech-impaired — is it possible?

Of course. We communicate by writing and gestures, and our staff take sign-language lessons and more, striving to talk with you as smoothly as possible.

Can men take part too?

Yes. We offer the men-only Sharaku plan, and a couple plan to shoot together with a female guest. The couple plan covers men’s dressing only (kimono, or haori-hakama), but men can also take part on their own. We also sometimes run limited-time men’s transformation plans — please feel free to ask us.

Can anyone use the women’s services?

Our women’s services are operated on the premise of women-only changing and preparation areas. Given our current facilities and operations, we therefore welcome guests whose physical characteristics are female.

What to Bring & Payment

Can I pay by credit card or QR code?

Credit cards: VISA, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover and UnionPay. QR-code payment: PayPay and Alipay. Cash is welcome too, of course.

Is there anything I need to bring?

A juban (under-kimono), tabi socks, makeup remover and basic skincare, towels and a hair dryer are all provided. Please bring only the makeup you’ll use on your way home.

What should I wear, and how should my makeup be?

Your everyday clothes and makeup are perfectly fine. For dressing reasons, however, please avoid wearing a bra-top.

Can I bring my own accessories or items?

For plans with no stated limit, you may bring up to three items in total. If you’d like to bring items, please let us know in advance.
See the carry-on rules here.

Is there somewhere for my companions to wait?

They are welcome to wait at the reception area.

Is there parking?

We don’t have our own parking. We’re sorry for the inconvenience — please use a nearby coin parking.

Hair, Makeup & Dressing

Hair, Makeup & Dressing

Is it okay to keep my contact lenses in?

Yes, you can keep contact lenses in. We don’t provide colored contacts, so please bring your own if you’d like them.

I have hair extensions — is that okay?

Generally no problem. However, for a Japanese-hair style the extensions may show, so if you’re concerned, removing them beforehand is the safest option.

I have eyelash extensions — is that okay?

No problem. We apply the false eyelashes without touching the roots of your lashes.

Tell me about your makeup hygiene.

We take care with hygiene so you can receive makeup with peace of mind. Staff sanitize their hands before service, and foundation sponges are new for each guest. Puffs and brushes are washed and used per guest.
Liquid foundation, lipstick and the like are portioned onto a spatula before application. Mascara uses a disposable screw brush, and false eyelashes are new and discarded after use.
If hygiene is a particular concern, or you’d like to use your own makeup, you’re welcome to bring your usual products. Please feel free to consult our staff about the day’s makeup.

Do you have tattoo stickers?

We don’t provide them. If you’d like them, please apply them yourself before you arrive.

Can I get a Japanese-hair style with short hair?

A Japanese-hair style is arranged using your own hair, so it can be difficult if your hair is too short. If it reaches about shoulder length, it’s possible.

I’m a larger build — will the sizes fit?

Almost all our costumes are ready-made free sizes (M–L). Since the oiran is dressed in a deliberately loose style, guests with a fuller figure can take part too. If a size doesn’t fit, you can shoot in your own costume, so please consult us in advance.
